Kirby Hall History Re-enactment 

August

A very popular event, Kirby Hall is the largest festival of history re-enactment in the world with 3000 performers!

Its displays through the ages begin with the army of the Caesars and end with the World War II. Also medieval jousting, English Civil War, Napoleonic and American Civil Wars.

Authentic re-enactment of events with performers richly dressed in period costumes.

During the festival you travel back through time and experience life in a medieval village, have the chance to see brave knights in combats, learn the skills of the festivals craft people and also meet a whole host of characters including the Ratcatcher, the Red Knight and the Warwick Bowman

Richborough Roman Fort Festival 

 July 

The fort dates back to the Roman landing in AD43.

A day out with a difference! On this event you can see superbly armored imperial soldiers on parade and battle, and also gladiators in single combat. You will be able to find out about Roman life and customs in an authentic 5th Century encampment!

Pevensey Castle - 1st English King Re-enactment -  July  

Pevensey is one of Britain's oldest and most important fortifications . It survived several invasions and in this occasion is the set for a dramatic recreation of  its 5th century authentic Saxon invasion. You can also see other displays of living history on this event
