We leave from your central London departure point late evening, travelling overnight to ensure more time to enjoy a long weekend in this uniquely cosmopolitan city.

We travel through France and Belgium before entering Holland. Travelling through the beautiful Dutch Countryside we stop en route for breakfast. Upon arrival there is a short introductory tour and time for lunch in central Amsterdam. The afternoon is free to explore or settle in your favourite cafe. In the evening there will be an optional restaurant meal, and for those who do not wish to have the meal, there is an excursion to the Leidse Plein. Join your guide for a unique look at the infamous Red Light District.

After breakfast we depart for the lovely traditional seaside resort of Volendam which is situated North of Amsterdam where the main street is a dyke! En route we stop off at the cheese farm near Edam, which is world famous for its cheese, for a demonstration on how cheese is manufactured. Next stop is a clog maker. After lunch we return to Amsterdam where we visit a diamond factory for a look at how diamonds are cut and polished. The rest of the afternoon is free for exploring the city - including the Rijiksmusem, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank's house. In the evening there is an optional wine and cheese canal cruise - a great way to see the old part of the city.

After breakfast we depart for our return journey via Brugge for lunch. We pass the industrial centre of Rotterdam and the beautiful little town of Delft - famous for its blue and white pottery before crossing back into Belgium. We spend several hours in the lovely old medieval town of Brugge which is famous for its lace and chocolates. In the late afternoon we depart for the channel crossing back to England. Approximate arrival time back in London is 22.00hrs
